- GRAPHICS DESCRIPTION PLUGINS
- ============================
- Graphics description is a supplemental plugins module for importing details
- about most often used graphic file formats in use today. All plugins provide
- details such as width, height, and color depth of the picture, and most
- of them (GIF, JPG, TIFF, PSD, and PNG) can extract more detailed information
- if available, as well.
-
- Graphics formats supported for description importing:
-
- Windows or OS/2 Bitmap Files (*.BMP)
- CompuServe Bitmap Files (*.GIF)
- JPEG Bitmap Files (*.JPG, *.JPEG, *.JFIF)
- ZSoft Paintbrush Files (*.PCX)
- TIFF Bitmap Files (*.TIF, *.TIFF)
- PNG Bitmap Files (*.PNG)
- Adobe Photoshop Files (*.PSD)
- Targa Bitmap Files (*.TGA,*.VST)
- Nikon Digital Camera Raw Files (*.NEF)
- Canon Digital Camera Raw Files (*.CRW)
-
- Digital Camera Support
- ----------------------
- JPEG, TIFF, and CRW plugins include additional support to extract exposure
- information commonly embedded in images transferred from digital cameras.
- Please note however that not all cameras use the same format for storing
- these details, and they are generally lost if image is edited. First two
- plugins include support for the ISO-standardized EXIF format that is
- supported by most newer digital cameras today and by few different
- manufacturers, and are capable of exporting details such as camera model,
- shutter and aperture values, flash usage, focal length used etc. The CRW
- plugin supports Canon's raw files, and its propriety CIFF description
- format found in such files.

- RUNTIME PLUGINS
- ===============
- Runtime plugins are different from the others as they are not automatic and
- are not run at scanning time, but rathar later on user's request from a menu
- option. Such plugins are interactive and typically require user's input.
-
- "Internet Movie Database (IMDB)" plugin (*.*)
- Imports detailed movie details from IMDB online archive, including cast,
- rating, plot outlines, user's comment, etc. If available, movie's cover
- image is also imported as thumbnail. Plugin is available for running on
- video files, folders, and disks.
-
- "Import any picture as thumbnail" plugin (*.*)
- A simple plugin that allow you to pick any cataloged file and folder, and
- use this plugin to assign it any supported image file as a thumbnail.
- Thumbnail preview and color adjustments are also available.
-
- LIMITATIONS
- ===========
- Enhanced PostScript Files (*. EPS) and Adobe Illustrator Thumbnails (*.AI)
- plugins only handle files with available bitmap preview. Not all files of
- those types may have a preview embedded. Adobe Illustrator files before
- version 7 do not support thumbnails and will not be handled by this plugin.
