  6. GRAPHICS DESCRIPTION PLUGINS
  7. ============================
  8. Graphics description is a supplemental plugins module for importing details
  9. about most often used graphic file formats in use today. All plugins provide
  10. details such as width, height, and color depth of the picture, and most
  11. of them (GIF, JPG, TIFF, PSD, and PNG) can extract more detailed information
  12. if available, as well.

  29. JPEG, TIFF, and CRW plugins include additional support to extract exposure 
  30. information commonly embedded in images transferred from digital cameras. 
  31. Please note however that not all cameras use the same format for storing
  32. these details, and they are generally lost if image is edited. First two
  33. plugins include support for the ISO-standardized EXIF format that is 
  34. supported by most newer digital cameras today and by few different 
  35. manufacturers, and are capable of exporting details such as camera model, 
  36. shutter and aperture values, flash usage, focal length used etc. The CRW
  37. plugin supports Canon's raw files, and its propriety CIFF description
  38. format found in such files.

  41. THUMBNAILS PLUGINS

  43. Thumbnail plugins can import smaller version of images to be stored in
  44. catalog as a reference.

  73. RUNTIME PLUGINS

  75. Runtime plugins are different from the others as they are not automatic and 
  76. are not run at scanning time, but rathar later on user's request from a menu
  77. option. Such plugins are interactive and typically require user's input.

  79. "Internet Movie Database (IMDB)" plugin (*.*)
  80.   Imports detailed movie details from IMDB online archive, including cast,
  81.   rating, plot outlines, user's comment, etc. If available, movie's cover
  82.   image is also imported as thumbnail. Plugin is available for running on 
  83.   video files, folders, and disks.

  85. "Import any picture as thumbnail" plugin (*.*)
  86.   A simple plugin that allow you to pick any cataloged file and folder, and
  87.   use this plugin to assign it any supported image file as a thumbnail.
  88.   Thumbnail preview and color adjustments are also available.

  90. LIMITATIONS
  91. ===========
  92. Enhanced PostScript Files (*. EPS) and Adobe Illustrator Thumbnails (*.AI) 
  93. plugins only handle files with available bitmap preview. Not all files of
  94. those types may have a preview embedded. Adobe Illustrator files before
  95. version 7 do not support thumbnails and will not be handled by this plugin.

  98. INSTALLING THE PLUGINS
  99. ======================
  100. Just as any other plugin, DescGraphics.dll is expected be located in 
  101. subfolder "Plugins" in WhereIsIt's main folder; for example, 
  102. "C:\Program Files\WhereIsIt\Plugins". No other installation is necessary, 
  103. the program will automatically detect and include plugins. You can enable, 
  104. disable, or setup individual plugins in program's settings.
